According to the tech site, Neowin, the media outlet in question posted some benchmark numbers of the alleged 3rd generation Ryzen 5 3500X CPU, along with some details about the processor’s specifications. From what we can gather, the 3500X will sport a 6-cores, 6-threads die layout, and will be in direct competition to Intel’s own Core i5-9400F. In testing the 3500X, the Chinese site reportedly used setup comprising an MSI B450M Mortax Max motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000MHz, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 graphics card, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. To test the Intel Core i5-9400F, the site swapped out the motherboard for a B360M version of the same brand, while retaining all other components.
Judging from the scores obtained by the Chinese site, the 3500X seems to be slightly more powerful than its Intel counterpart. In a CPU-Z validation test, the CPU scored 476 points in the single-core test and 2775 points in the multi-core test. By comparison, that’s approximately 25 points and 106 points higher than the Core i5-9400F in the same single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. The site had also produced some gaming benchmark scores with the 3500X, though the framerate scores did not include the performance of the Core i5-9400F.
At the time of writing, AMD hasn’t quite acknowledged the existence of this alleged Ryzen 5 3500X CPU, let alone provide a specific launch date.
