Between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, Apple reports that its customers spent over US$1.22 billion (~RM5.05 billion). This, says Phil Schiller, Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, was the App Store’s “biggest week ever.”
And on New Year’s Day of 2019, people spent over US$322 million (~RM13.33 million), setting a new single-day record. As Phil Schiller puts it, “App Store finished off an outstanding 2018 and kicked off 2019 with a bang.” Unsurprisingly, Gaming was one of the most popular categories, with titles like Fortnite and PUBG topping the charts.
