Grab’s decision to merge its two apps is a sound one. It effectively brings all of its services under one roof, and provides a convenient app experience not just for the users, but also for delivery partners. From the looks of it, the method of placing an order remains unchanged; you simply need to choose the food option on the app, and begin placing down an order for your dish of choice. Once chosen, simply confirm the order and make the necessary payment through the app, and one of Grab’s delivery partners will then proceed to deliver the order.
As it was on the GrabFood app, all the participating partners will also be listed in the main app. This includes outlets such as MyBurgerLab, Baskin Robbins, Village Park Restaurant, and Super Saigon, to name a few. Migration of the GrabFood app into Grab will commence from 17 April 2019 onwards. Beside the Klang Valley, the new service will also be made available in Penang, Melaka, Johor Bahru, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu from 22 April onwards.
