As per its Roadmap, Intel seems intent on making its 3rd generation ARC GPUs, Celestial, will not only be on par with whatever enthusiast-level graphics cards NVIDIA and AMD will have to offer in 2024. To that end, Intel also wants its ARC Celestial cards to cater to the “Ultra Enthusiast” GPU market segment in that same year, and that GPU series is already under “active development”. Understandably, there isn’t a whole lot of detail regarding Celestial, given that Intel still needs to make sure that its Alchemist lineup launches with as few issues as possible. That said, Intel’s roadmap doesn’t sound too far-fetched, especially given Battlemage’s forecasted two-year life cycle. Ultimately, the chipmaker is expecting its 2nd generation ARC GPU to show improved performance over Alchemist. For another matter, and considering the current roadmap, don’t expect its 4th generation ARC GPU lineup, Druid, to be getting any mentions or making any appearances until 2025.
