In response to the alarming spike of COVID-19 cases, newly added to the app is the “Hantar Barang” option where users can employ part-timers (known as GoGetters) from the GoGet community platform to help purchase and deliver items to those in need. According to KitaJaga, the new feature is part of its newly established collaboration with GoGet, which not only promotes contactless deliveries but also help generate jobs for the part-time worker community.

📦 We added a new call to action (CTA) for Hantar Bantuan. Due to the spike in covid -19, user are encouraged to choose “Hantar Barang 📦” option, it is much safer We are proud to announce our first collaboration with Goget for Hantar Bantuan. pic.twitter.com/6mb38HCXQW — kitajaga.co (@kitajagaMY) July 27, 2021 The new version of the app also comes with an updated look for its user interface, giving a detailed and cleaner look to both the Ingin Bantu and Perlu Bantuan cards. A new layer has been added to the confirmation screen in order to ensure that users verify all information before confirming to provide assistance, or to request for aid.

Notifications-wise, KitaJaga now comes with a new call-to-action feature which will notify all app users of any new or nearby Hantar Bantuan notices. In addition to this, a new message will also be sent out if a user that you are keeping track of has already removed their pin. This is likely a measure to prevent from overwhelming a user with multiple assistance or requests.

The KitaJaga platform and app was established to act as an extension to the good-willed #BenderaPutih movement, which aims to enable Malaysians to help each other during these trying times. Those interested to offer their assistance or wish to seek help via the platform may do so by visiting their official website via this link. KitaJaga’s mobile app is only available to iOS users at this current time, but the platform promised that an Android version is currently in the works. Important Note: There is a mobile app on Google Play Store bearing the name “kitajaga.co”, which is listed to be developed by a company known as ZenTik Lab. We highly advise not to download this version until its validity is confirmed by Terato Tech Sdn Bhd, KitaJaga’s actual developer. (Source: KitaJaga [Twitter])
