The rumour comes by way of the prominent leakster, Greymon55 (@greymon55), who responded to a query about its prediction on the RTX 40 Series family of GPUs. They say that NVIDIA could make the announcement for its new Ada Lovelace GPUs sometime in September, but they also go on to say that they were unsure as to which of the models will actually consume more than 450W. At best, they believe that it will be three cards and those three cards will also be equipped with a top-tier AD102 GPU, with each of them consuming 450W, 650W, and 850W of power. This rumour was also confirmed by another leakster, kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi).
— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) February 23, 2022 Another piece of information about the AD102 is that the GPU is expected to be made using TSMC’s N5 processor technology and will be using a “monolithic design”, with an estimated die size of 600mm2.
— Greymon55 (@greymon55) February 23, 2022 As grand as these TGP consumptions sound, it is important to remember that these are still just rumours and as such, they need to be treated with the usual application of discretion and skepticism. On that note, we’ll just have to wait until September to see if rumours are true. (Source: Videocardz, Twitter [1] [2])
