Sanctioned by the National Security Council (MKN) due to rising cases in Malaysia especially within Klang Valley, this will be done through a very ambitious exercise called Operation Surge Capacity (OSC). The main focus of OSC will revolve around the period of 26 July to 1 August.

Hence, JKJAV will increase vaccine supply and administration capacity in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur as we speak, given that OSC will require Vaccine Administration Centres (PPVs) to increase the daily vaccination rate from 180,000 doses to 272,000 doses. Interesting enough, Minister Khairy has also said that after the conclusion of OSC on 1 August, anyone in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur that have not received their first dose of the vaccine will be allowed to obtain it via the walk-in manner at any PPVs in both states. According to the statistics released by the Ministry of Health, Malaysia has recorded 12,541 cases throughout the country today with 7,054 recorded cases in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
