To start, the OPPO Reno8 Z sports the familiar 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with a refresh rate of 60Hz. The processor is a familiar one as well, being the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset that we’ve seen in even the predecessor. Also present is 8GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery which supports 33W charging. One difference between the device that is launched locally and the one that is made available in out northern neighbour is that the storage space has been bumped up to 256GB. It’s much the same story with the cameras. We see the familiar 64MP main + 2MP macro + 2MP depth sensor combo that we saw earlier in the month. In front, it’s the same 16MP shooter too, sitting in the punch hole cutout on the top left corner. Though while the Thai variant has removed the RGB lighting around the lens of the main and macro shooters, OPPO has brought back the Dual Orbit Lights for the Malaysian variant of the Reno8 Z.
The OPPO Reno8 Z is priced at RM1799, and will be available starting tomorrow, 26 August 2022. It’s worth pointing out that the only thing different between this and the Reno7 Z that was launched less than half a year ago is 128GB of extra storage space, which apparently costs RM100. But for what it’s worth, if you’re among the earlier ones to buy the Reno8 Z, you’ll be entitled to free gifts worth up to RM997. If you make the purchase at the OPPO Portrait Carnival that’s happening from today until 31 August at Sunway Velocity Mall, you’ll be entitled to another set of freebies.
